A New Word

Elegy

In literature, an elegy is a mournful, melancholic or plaintive poem, especially a funeral song or a lament for the dead.

Very Interesting! I have started the new book above and in the second paragraph it states this:
The title of this book has three origins--as a prophecy, a promise, and an elegy. I had never heard this word before or if I have, I do not remember it.

I love to find new words and look them up immediately. That is about the only thing that would draw me into ever considering buying "the kindle", as it has a built in dictionary.
But........I love the feel of the book, I love flipping the pages and I LOVE .......the smell of the book. Maybe I am just to set in my ways. Would Thomas Jefferson have bought a kindle? I don't think so!

There must be a full moon somewhere in another world today! just sayin!

The Assurance of Things Hoped For

Faith as the assurance of things hoped for looks to the future. This assurance is founded upon a correct understanding about, and trust in, God and enables us to 'press forward' (2 Nephi 31:20) into uncertain and often challenging situations in the service of the Savior."

How cute is this? Thanks my blogging friend Pammy! I love it.

"Consider The Lilies"

"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow...." The words are an invitation to contemplate the works of nature and to see in them the expression of the Creator's love and concern for each of his creations. The power that clothes the lilies with their beauty can also provide solace and comfort in the challenges of living every day.

Cherished Moments

I love my grandchildren so much and I adore each and every one of them! I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful relationship with my family. This is my sweet Henli, she is almost 3yrs. old and she is the sweetest little princess ever. I am so grateful that she loves me so much! This is her new little Easter outfit that her Nana brought her and I think she really loves it!

These are our sweet twins, Claire and Jenny. They are growing so fast and I can't believe they will be a year old in May. They are getting their own little personalities more and more every day. They are even starting to look more alike now, but being "Nana"........I can still tell them apart!

Manti LDS Temple

Even though Steven and I had such a full plate last weekend.......we were so close to the Manti Temple that we were able to get up here on Sunday before church. I was in AWE............... It is so beautiful and speaks so softly of a pioneer legacy! I love the older...... the first constructed temples so much.

This is the view from the driveway where I was standing in the previous picture and this is looking downhill at the cemetery. I often think of all the pioneers that paved the way for me.
I'm sure that many of them helped settle the valley and helped with the construction of the Temple. I learned some wonderful stories of the building of the temple from Steven's sweet mom and she even loaned me a book about the Manti Temple.

This is the south lawn where they have the Manti Pageant that I have never been able to go to. I am going to try my darndest this year to make it. Maybe we can make it a family tradition every year!

It is on this lawn that some 15,000 people gather for a 2 week performance for this special event. Can you even imagine? For more information please visit http://www.mormonmiracle.org/

BYU Weekend!

This past weekend Steven and I went north to take in the BYU Utes game at the Marriott Center in Provo. What a great time we had. We got to spend time with so many family members! We saw my sweet Ivy and her family and Steven's parents and some of his siblings and their spouses. I LOVE northern Utah and I loved it that there was still so much snow on the ground. The weather was perfect! It was cold and just the way I like it! We had a great day on Campus and lingered in the BYU Bookstore where there is so much to look at and buy. I bought Steven and I each a vinyl sticker for our cars. He is the BYU graduate but I'm a fan .......so there.

Here we are off to the Marriott Center as we are just coming from the MO-A. Huh? We had asked the young man at the bookstore where the Museum of Art was and he said, you mean the MO-A? Too cute..........It made me feel like 20 years old again. Maybe we both felt that way just being on campus! Anyway, we had a wonderful but hurried time at the Carl H. Block exhibit. It appeared that everyone had the same idea as we ...........we will take in the art before the game. It was wall to wall art lovers! Oh well, for us there is never enough time for all the things we want to squeeze into a twenty four hour day!

The beautiful mountains in Provo! Just seeing them warms my heart!

We had some sweet seats! These were a gift for Valentine's and for our 6 month Anniversary!
It was a sold out game!

It's the Jimmer Fredette show! It was awesome seeing him play in person. He is truly amazing!

The seats that you see empty to the right are "special" seating.........They made everyone get up and go to the side and then it happened. The lights dimmed and then from the center of the arena four large white fabric panels came down from the ceiling and then as the players came onto the floor it showed them on these white panels in "giant size"...........Awesome

BYU Game Weekend!

This is my first try at videos! Wow.........sorry, but you get the feel of the Marriott Center that day. The big airship is the BYU creamery balloon. Yep.......we had some really yummy Marionberry ice cream.

Alstrom Point Day!

Alstrom Point is located within the boundaries of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, which is a piece of undeveloped country. Steven and I headed out early in the morning and took lots of yummy snacks and left over cold pizza from the night before. ( I LOVE PIZZA!) Obviously you need to go by truck or four wheelers. Steven and his son Danny had actually been here a few weeks earlier on the four wheelers and they had a super great day.

I loved the scenery........It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. Steven said that they had just finished shooting a movie here and I can't remember the title but it had something to do with someone from Mars. Wow..........It looks likes something from Mars for sure.

Can you see the little spec of a boat out there? It was 40 degrees this day!

This is one of my favorite shots looking between the large gap in the rocks!

My personal tour director and great leader of this expedition................
Yes........he makes me very nervous when he does these balancing acts!

This is the view from Alstrom Point looking over to Page, Arizona. It was a beautiful day and it was so much fun just being together. We made it home just in time for the BYU game.......can you imagine how well he had this planned out? (giggles).......... Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

It's A Flood....

The weekend I was headed to Page........my sweetie has a flood! UGH......... He said the minute he walked in the door that he could hear the water dripping. I guess you know the rest of the story! New water heater installed and with alot of TLC. It's interesting the things that you learn about someone at the 6 month mark into the friendship and relationship. I have had more than my share of drama in my life so even little disruptions often will give me anxiety. The anxiety is the unknown of what manner one handles these situations.

I can say this..........He is one of the most patient people I have ever known. I'm sure it was very frustrating but I couldn't really tell by his sweet demeanor. I just kinda stayed out of the way and ran and picked up dinner and read in the other room until he asked for my help. He is surely the sweetest man I have ever known and I feel so blessed by having him in my life!

My Beautiful Zion Park

Frozen waterfalls everywhere! The views were amazing and it was hard to keep my eyes on the road!

These are the big hurd of Buffalo that are located on the East entrance of the park. The following photos are of this great area there also. You can rent these little cabins and wouldn't that be fun!
