I love My life!!!! My family is the most important thing to me in this earthly life. I am a Christian and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I try hard everyday to be the best example of "Christ" that I can be. I am a work in progress! I am the mother of two married daughters and I love to spoil my seven grandchildren. I would like to think that I am a loving daughter, mother, mother-in-law, nana, aunt, sister and friend.
Our Little Jr. Ranger! For years I have been telling the kids about the fun Jr. Ranger program up at the Nature Center..................so............on Friday Layni and I went up and learned alot of cool stuff.
She was a little embarrassed but was a good sport and tried on the cool ranger gear so her Nana could take a photo!
Here she is giving the Ranger Pledge with our local Ranger!
This was a cool activity, as the ranger was showing how far the local deer can jump!
On Saturday Layni and I made a visit to the LDS Temple Visitors Center! We love visiting with the Sister Missionaries and finding out where there hometowns are! Thank you for taking a pic of us!
"Families Can Be Together Forever"
Wow.......That's a really long way up there Layni!
I love the way that she poses for all the photos...:)
My sweet Layni!
My sweet sweet friend Lawana.... how I love our friendship!
She invited us up for an early morning breakfast on Sunday before our journey back to Northern Utah. It was super delicious.......we had whole wheat pancakes and omelets that we boiled in bags on the stove. How fun and Thank you so much...Layni loved it!
My grangirlie Layni is here for a four day visit! Every day we have had big plans and yesterday was our "Zion Park Tourist" day! I love to play tourist and now Layni is at the age where she can do some of the hikes!
What fun we did have!
Yesterday........in 100 degrees we spent the entire day up in the park! This is Riverside Walk which is the beginning of the famous "Narrows" hike. We got to see lots of wildlife along the way and met lots of fun people. We had lunch and the famous "swirl ice cream cone" up at the Zion Lodge and then we attended Jr. Ranger School. It was such a fun day..........I would guess that we walked about six miles!
Tomorrow is the day! My little Layni is coming to stay with her Nana for four days! We have been planning this for at least two months and we have big plans! We have a Junior Ranger day up at the park, riding the Zion bus, eating ice cream at the lodge, shopping, and finally on Saturday we will spend the whole day in the big city shopping, exploring, eating at all of our favorite places, going to visit the LDS Temple visitors center and finally attending the performance of "Hairspray" out at Tuachan Amphitheatre.
Shields up is a term from Star Trek! So, I guess those of us that are from that generation or still love being a "trekie" then you will understand my metaphor!
Due to our very dry winter here in Zion Canyon we are having a more than usual snake outpouring!
Yep........you heard me right!
Luckily......I have never had a rattlesnake in my yard but plenty of other visitors. We actually had a snake in the store the night before last. We have killed a couple of rattlesnakes down in the campground and in the river beds just this past week ( I live right on the river bed). LORDY!
You can imagine what they are looking for......no not me although I do believe that to be true in my very scarey mind and fear of snakes. But they are looking for water.
Now.......back to photos!
MOTHBALLS! When I first moved up here I was told that if you put mothballs everywhere then that will divert the snakes and keep them away!
I apologize in advance to the neighbors who have already noticed the smell.
He said "it reminds me of my grandparents basement"!
Running with a broken toe that is still mending is something I want to avoid!
On Thursday I saw a lizard and nearly fell over one of the planters!
Let me just say this! Glen Campbell is the cats meow in my book! Being a "vegas girl" in the 70's and the 80's and working for the Doctor to the Stars... well.........I had the opportunity to meet and get to know lots of these wonderful entertainers! And.......thank you to the cute guy who sat next to me that also is from my generation and grew up and still lives in Vegas. It was super fun talking about all the good ole vegas daze!
