Downton Abbey

If you haven't heard of this series on PBS by now.....well, you will be shortly.

It is a wonderful, warm and fuzzy series and I love the time period.

So...........I ordered the first season from the library and when I went to order the second season I was number 93 on the waiting list.  Seriously.........who told everyone bout this?

So.....I ordered the second season on Ebay.  I put it in the DVD player tonite and all the discs inside are Season One............STop iT.........

Factory sealed ........so I have emailed the seller and I will let you know how it turns out!

Big sad face tonite!  Resting my broken toe and now no movie :(

UPDATE:  The Ebay seller refunded my money and said it was definitely a factory error.  He will get a new shipment this next week if I still want to order.  Hmmmmmm?????

"Red Pagoda"

Ever since I first laid eyes on this little beauty I have been researching it.
I had simply never seen anything quite like it!  You could say I was even "enchanted" by it!

It's official name in the plant world is Crassula Corymbulosa and it is a small succulent from Africa.  There we go again with my love and my connection for Africa!

Anyway............I have been trying to get my hands on one and it is a bit harder than what I thought.
So.....for several days now I have been bidding on them on Ebay.  They are going for around $25.00!
Seriously...........the only thing I grow well are succulents.

Keep your fingers crossed for me but I am not paying $25.00!

UPDATE:  It sold for $23.50....wowza!

Talk About Painful!

Well.... today I am day 9 post fracture of my 4th toe!  I can wear a flip flop with some ease but I still cannot put any pressure on my 4th and 5th toes!

First of all let me say this...............I would never have dreamed that a fractured toe could hurt so bad!

Upon leaving my daughter's house in Salt Lake on MOTHER'S DAY I accidentally hit the side of the new couch and man oh man...........Down I went to the floor!  Baby Jenny is in the high chair and wondering what on earth her Nana is doing pounding the floor and crying!

So........now the three hour drive home!  Seriously!

"Thank You" to the person who invented cruise control!  Otherwise I had to use my left foot!

On Monday morning I went to see the foot Doctor who is 25 minutes away and yep......it's confirmed the fracture of the 4th toe is bad.  First he thought it might just be dislocated and then he would have to put it back in place.  I said "ARE YOU KIDDING ME........YOU ARE NOT TOUCHING MY TOE"!  All this while throwing up.... to and from and during the Dr. appointment!

Yes, I know ........sorry Dr. Peterson for my crying and carrying on!  But........after much prayer to my father in heaven.... it was confirmed that it was only a good clean bad break.

Two days of down time and hopping around until I got the crutches has given me a whole new perspective on "dealing with whatever comes along"!!!

How grateful I am for my many blessings, my family, my work family and my wonderful friends!  Thanks to everyone who brought in food, crutches, worked extra shifts at my work, ran my errands, took my lesson at church, ran me to the doctor and then home and simply just called to check on me.

I am one lucky little girl and there are some things in life that just happen.... so it's best just to deal with whatever comes along!  This coming from someone who is overly-organized at all times.

Zion Tunnel Update

Yesterday afternoon a car apparently caught fire in the tunnel and all of the local fire departments were called out.  The tunnel was closed for four hours.  There are only two ways in and out of Zion Canyon!

Needless to say people were upset about the detour which took them close to 2 hours out of their way!

Let's just be grateful that no one was injured people!

Everyone is in such a hurry!  Slow down.... enjoy your Journey!

R.I.P. Robin Gibb

Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb, 62, died on Sunday after a harrowing battle with colon cancer that spread to his liver. Despite aggressive chemotherapy and two emergency operations in the past two months, the disco star—remembered for hit songs from“Stayin’ Alive” and “Saturday Night Fever”—developed brain swelling due to liver failure, and pneumonia. He slipped into a coma, waking briefly on May 21 after his family spent days singing to him at his bedside.

For heaven's sake everyone.........you should get your first colonoscopy at age 50!  My children just had a fit and kept hounding me when one of our local TV personalities died at age 52,  Again, probably his ending could have been altered if he had just had the test.

The only really bad part was the prep..........the yucky stuff you drink, but other than that, the procedure was not uncomfortable at all.  I think I even lost a few pounds!  Ha Ha.

JUST DO IT!  GET YOUR COLONOSCOPY!

Solar Eclipse 2012

Yippee.............I am in the perfect loction to see the Eclipse tomorrow and yes, I have the protective glasses to wear that I have ordered from EBAY!

For us "Utahans"  it should occur just at about 7:33.  Of course I will be checking out the time tonite and where exactly the sun will be..... so that way I can set up my lawn chair for the big event.

A rare annular eclipse, where a ‘ring of fire’ outlines the moon as it crosses the sun, will greet US viewers Sunday evening. Residents of the US West will have a good shot at seeing the full fire ring.

This NASA graphic of the United States depicts the path of the annular solar eclipse of May 20, 2012, when the moon will cover about 94 percent of the sun's surface as seen from Earth.

The next major solar eclipse in the US won’t come until August 21, 2017, although Australia and parts of the South Pacific will see one later this year, on Nov. 17.

My .......Zion Tunnel

ZION NATIONAL PARK - Engineers, historians and National Park System representatives gathered Friday for a dedication ceremony at Zion National Park recognizing the accomplishments of workers who built the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway and Tunnel more than 80 years ago.

The American Society of Civil Engineers named the road and tunnel a national historic civil engineering landmark during the ceremony, a designation granted to more than 200 locations across the country but only the second in Utah, following the Salt Lake Tabernacle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

"It is truly an engineering marvel," said park archaeologist and Cultural Resources Program Manager Sarah Horton. "There are two tunnels, the switchbacks and retaining walls. To create that highway at the time that it was (built) is truly amazing, and the time to get it done was quite fast."

Zion National Park Superintendent Jock Whitworth noted that the project, which created a highway that runs through the park, was completed in a relatively safe manner, although two workers died in accidents during the project.

"You think (about how) they did it in three years, and the kind of tools they had back then," Whitworth said. "This is recognizing a significant engineering feat."
