Twilight Books

Well..........I have finished the fourth and last book in the series. I just want to know one thing.

Where the heck do I go from here?

Everyone said, "You will be sad when you finish all the books."

Now I will just wait for all the movies.....You can bet that I will be there on November 20th for the New Moon movie..........

The following are some of my favorite pictures from the movie and also of Edward Cullen aka Robert Pattinson.

The ole Model T Ford

On Friday there was just a ton of these old cars that drove around Springdale all day. I was lucky enough to finally spot a few that were parked along the side of the road. I guess it was safe to assume that there was probably a car show somewhere south and that they were just passing through. I LOVE old cars..... All kinds but especially the model T and of course all the cool cars from the 60's and early 70's. Remember the GTO and the 57 Chevy? Yeah...very cool....

I love these old water radiator carrying bags............

"Shining Star"

I am saddened by the loss of one of our "angels". Being a teenager in the 70's, everyone knew who Farrah Fawcett was. We all remember and loved Charlie's Angles. What a courageous battle she fought. She will be missed by many.

Still Honest People...........

How great is this? Someone brought in a $100.00 bill that they had found right outside our store and was hoping someone would claim it. Can you even believe it? I had just barely seen someone walking out and searching his pockets so I figured he would be the one that would be coming in. ...
And sure enough...................It was his......Can you believe it?

D.C. Metro Crash

This is just a terrible accident and so far there are nine deaths. My mother and I go to D.C. every August and this year we have decided to stay in Arlington and have also decided to learn to take the "Metro". How scared do you think I am now? Oh that darn "bucket list" again.
My sympathy goes out to all those involved.

Splitsville

Yes, I am truly saddened by the big news last night. I guess we have known for some time now but the announcement came last night on their show on TLC.
The show will go on and they will be doing separate shootings, the kids with each parent.
Marriage is work .......and can you imagine with two sets of multiples which equals eight children? Well, it shall be very interesting to say the least. Me being the optimist.. ...I will wish blessings for them and I will forever hope that they can work out their differences and get back together. Let's all pray for them. NO ONE wants to see a family break apart !!!!!!

My Playlist

I love my new playlist. I have added alot of the songs from the movie "Twilight" and songs by my favorite composer, Beethoven. He did however compose the Lullaby about the Pretty Horses but I love....... the Mexicali version.

I am now on the fourth book in the Twilight series. I almost hate finishing the series, but they have become somewhat of an obsession. I should be doing more constructive things with my time.

Oh how I love Edward and Bella.....................The Lion and the Lamb.

I Refuse to Believe!!!!

I don't usually write about my emotions, thoughts or feelings on my blog but lately I have had some fairly in depth discussions with my friend Chris about relationships. We are both single and often discuss our dating situation. Being single at our age certainly brings up some interesting situations. Where do you meet other single people? Seriously? We have a mutual friend Dee who has met a super guy through her hiking club. Go figure!!!! I guess the search goes on but mostly I am pretty laid back and feel like "If it happens ..........it will happen". I have a pretty full life , a great job and a ton of hobbies that keep me pretty busy. I spend a good deal of time with my family. (thank you daughters and mom for being my best friends).............

I guess the point of this whole post is this. Chris said to me last night: Do you think we have already had "all" of our loves. It's funny that he mentioned that as I had thought about the same thing on my way back from the gym. (Friday night is gym night....and how is that for date night!) We often are thinking along the same line. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT.............I do not think that all. I truly believe that he is out there somewhere same as I and that "it" will happen. I have to have hope and faith. In the meantime I will continue to live my life the best I know how. I will continue to grow in becoming a better person. I will be more loving, understanding, kind and patient. I will forever be the "Optimist".

Northern Exposure

This past weekend I traveled north to hang out with my daughter, son in law and THEM GRANDBABIES..............THEM SIMPLY ADORABLE LITTLE DARLINS.......

The weather was crazy. It rained off and on (mostly on) the entire time I was there.

I did have to do some photographing of gravestones so we all decided to walk up to the cemetery. It's about a two mile jaunt. I kept telling Ivy we should drive...Her reply was "no mom it won't be that far........With umbrellas in hand, off we went..........Are you kidding me? The way up was ok......but then man the storm broke right over us.....I didn't think we would make it home in one piece ......the wind was so bad......Layni said "whose idea was it to walk again?"

You can see how windy it is by the following pictures.....

A Great Day at Chucke Cheez

On Monday Ivy and I took the kids to Chucke Cheez. We were very thrifty and even printed out coupons to save a few bucks. We had a great time. Lukas was so funny. He would just run from one game to the other and not even worry about the tickets that he won. Henli didn't quite know what to think about the Chucke Cheez Band.........She did do some dancing though. Layni ended up with the most tickets. You get to pick prizes afterwards and they were just these little rinky dinky crappy toys...........What a Racket they got goin there!! but the kids had fun and thats what matters most.
OK Nana...Enough with the camera!!!

All Aboard......................

Baby Henli wasn't to sure about this chair ride...

Tip Toe Through The Tombstones

This past week I did some gravestone research and thought I would share some of the really old unique and lovely stones.
I love the character in the old tombstones.

There are alot of cemteries that are doing "Restoration" to their gravestones. Most are done by

volunteers. When I was in New Orleans in November we got to see alot of how they repair the little house crypts. It was very interesting.

These old stones are always sad for me to see. You have to remember that there was limited materials back in the 1800's to make markers with. The weather mixed with time was pretty hard on them. Luckily most cemeteries have a platt map and they do know who is buried here. Often times you will see a new marker either along side or as a replacement if there is a living relative.

Frei's Fruit Market

Located in a little city in southern Utah is Frei's Fruit Market. It has been a staple in the community since 1956. The kids and I have frequented this place on many occasions. We really have been going there for over some 30 years. I live about an hour away now and the kids are grown and gone ........so I don't get by there like I use to. I probably haven't been there or really even thought about it in three or four years. I was driving by to go to the local cemetery ( remember I photograph tombstones for their relatives).

I was so excited to see it still there. I quickly pulled over and did some shopping. Everything looked so fresh and bright. I ended up buying some sweet corn, purple onion, pattypan squash, melons, tomatoes, and some Anasazi beans.

Oh, the memories came flooding back........All the times we had gone here so the kids could pick out their pumpkins that they would soon turn into "Halloween Art". It was bittersweet. I miss my children being children........but you can't hold back time.

I remember these on the farm and I would somehow connect two of the flowers to make what we called a "Holly Hock Doll".
