This cool tomb is located is Lafayette I cemetery. It is the Karstendiek tomb and is built entirely of cast iron and dates from the 1860's. Does it look familiar? Did you see Interview with a Vampire? As a child Ann Rice played in this cemetery....
Hence it was part of the movie. I don't remember it but come on......that was a long time ago. I guess I will have to watch it again.
This is actually my family tomb. My mother and grandmother were buried in the ground perimeter area in the early and mid 1980's.
ReplyDeleteI never knew it was supposed to have a vampire living in it!
Shaddeaux, I am visiting that tomb in a couple weeks. My last name is Karstendiek and I am very interested in seeing it. Do you have any information about the tomb. If so, please drop me an email. mikecarsonradio@gmail.com.
ReplyDeleteI am interested to learn more about it.
